Are you resisting taking feedback from your manager?
Before I tell you why feedback is important, I want you to imagine a graph where the X-axis represents what you know about yourself & what you don’t know about yourself. Y-axis represents what others know about you & what they don’t know about you. So, now we have 4 quadrants.
The first quadrant represents what you know about yourself and what others also know about yourself. Usually, we are comfortable to take feedback about this because it’s just about affirmations. This is our affirmations area.
The second quadrant represents what you know about yourself but others don’t know about yourself. No need to worry about it much because it’s our secret area.
The third quadrant represents what you don’t know about yourself and also others don’t know about yourself. This is our unknown area. Eventually we need to explore by ourselves.
The fourth quadrant represents what you don’t know about yourself but others know about yourself. This is our blindspots area. Here all our blindspots lie like our attitude or behavior which we are unaware of but others are aware of.
When we seek or take feedback from others we will be aware of these blindspots.
Due to that we can get to know about them and work up on them so that we can grow which will help us in improving our relationships with others and also help us in achieving our goals.
