How to handle a team member's resignation?

One of the challenging aspects of being a leader is managing the resignation of a team member.
When you are in that situation first calm down and stop making it about yourself by thinking as if they are rejecting you or breaking your trust or something else. When we think in this way we handle it poorly.
Remember one thing. A properly managed employee resignation can have a long-term positive effect on both the departing worker and the remaining team members.
Understand why he/she is leaving it might be because of compensation or growth or work environment or not getting recognition or work-life balance or something else so that you can take action to retain the employee or improve the situation for the rest of the team.
The manner in which you managed the resignation discussion, the transition phase, and your conduct during the notice period will leave a strong impression on your team members.
