Everyone can't become a great leader but a great leader can come from anywhere
I saw several founders looking for an IIT or IIM alumni for leadership positions. May be to impress VCs or because of their biases. Due to this, they end up recruiting a leader who doesn't fit their company's vision or culture.

Due to this single mistake, they end up losing their employee's trust and the pace at which they were growing.
I am not saying there are no great leaders from IIT or IIM. I worked under and with great leaders(Amit Jain, Anurag Jain, Saurabh Mathur, Suresh Singh and Shubham Gupta) who are from IIT & IIM.
At the same time, I worked under and with great leaders (Ajay Jangir, Rameshwar Gupta, Vidosh Sahu, Dhruv Saksena and Mir Muzaffar U Zaman) who are not from IIT & IIM.
When you are in search of a leader make sure your biases don't cloud your judgement.
