According to "the happiness project(https://the-happiness-project.com/blogs/tools/four-tendencies-guide), there are four personality types: Upholder, Questioner, Rebel and Obliger. Let me explain each one:
1. Upholders:
Upholders follow both inner and outer rules. They like to know what they should do.
If you're an Upholder, the key strategy for changing habits is to create a schedule and stick to it.
2. Questioners:
Questioners tend to question all rules but will follow the ones they agree with, turning them into inner rules. They seek justifications for things.
If you're a Questioner, the key strategy for habit change is to gain clarity on what habit you want to develop or change.
3. Rebels:
Rebels resist all rules and prefer to do things their own way. They value freedom and independence.
If you're a Rebel, the key strategy for habit change is to connect the habit you want with your identity.
4. Obligers:
Obligers respond well to outer rules, like deadlines set by others, but they struggle with inner rules they set for themselves. They need accountability.
If you're an Obliger, the key strategy for habit change is to find someone who can be your accountability partner.
So, figure out which personality type describes you best. Once you know your type, tailor your habit change approach and environment accordingly. This way, you're more likely to succeed in building that new habit!
