Because of ChatGPT or GPT-4, do we lose developer jobs?
Maybe or maybe not.

If you see the news, everyone has their view.
Regularly new technologies will come. For example, 2 or 3 years back, everyone believed slowly the whole internet would shift to web3 or that all websites would be built with no-code tools. But what happened, we all know. Like that, a lot of predictions came because of new emerging trends.
So many things will come that seem to disrupt everything, but only a few will do.
Usually, it can go in 2 ways.
1. Maybe AI wars will die down and another prediction will come and shake our world.
In this case, we don’t need to worry, we just need to focus on improving our craft. Means upskill yourself
2. Maybe AI will replace software developers.
If this is true then what will happen to existing applications like CRMs, CMSs & several other applications for some time there will be work.
By the way, AI needs the latest information which means we need to build APIs. ChatGPT plugin functionality came and some people are already working on these.
One door closes the other door(s) opens so for that also we need to get ready to learn.
I will say only 1 thing. Keep yourself updated. Learn new things and improve your current craft. Then nobody can replace you.
