🚴♂️ 200KM BRM – A Ride to Remember!

On Saturday night, I pushed myself beyond anything I had ever experienced—I completed a 200 KM Cycling/BRM (Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux) ride! It's too intense, too exhausting, yet incredibly satisfying.
Before this, my longest ride was just 70 KM. I wanted to attempt 200 KM for a long time but always found reasons to back out - lack of practice, wrong timing or just plain fear. Every time my cycling friends talked about 200 KM BRMs, I would make excuses.
A week ago, I realized I was only lying to myself. So, I decided to register first and then see how it goes. The moment I signed up, something changed—I stopped making excuses and started figuring out how to actually do it. But deep down, I was still scared because I had never gone beyond 70 KM.
Finally, the day arrived and let me tell you—no amount of planning could prepare me for what followed.
After 100 KM, my back started hurting.
The next 100 KM felt endless.
Every kilometre tested my endurance, but I kept pushing.
But I did it. And this ride taught me so much:
1️⃣ True friends make all the difference - My friends(Arun & Venu), could have finished at least an hour before me, but they stayed with me the entire 200 KM. They stopped, waited and kept checking if I was okay. I felt incredibly lucky - what more could I ask for in life? 🙌
2️⃣ My back needs work - I thought I was strong, but 200 KM proved otherwise. Time to focus on strengthening it.
3️⃣ I need to practice more.
The last 100 KM were brutal. At one point, I regretted signing up. But looking back, I’m so glad I did it. I learned a lot about myself, my limits and the amazing people around me.
